It can be hard to stay motivated

New Year’s resolutions mean that for many it is a time to commit to new exercise regimes and eating habits.  

But

Why is it so hard to stay motivated with the same enthusiasm you had on New Year’s Day?

The reality of resolutions is they are made in the euphoria of a New Year.  You have high hopes and ambitions for your health and fitness and when you set those resolutions you truly believe it will be easy to commit to them. Often resolutions are set unrealistically high.

The truth is, it is hard to make new habits and that is why I would urge you to go easy on yourself if your commitment wains.

Instead commit to small goals and keep working towards them.  If you fall off the wagon for a day or two, just junk it and get going again.  Commit to things you like doing.  You don’t have to go to the gym every day but if you love to dance do that as it will be easier to keep going. 

Most of all never give up on trying to work on your health and wellness but be realistic.  We all have off days and you are allowed them too.  Keep moving every day and then build on that.
